reiki
What is it? REIKI is an ancient form of hands-on healing rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian minister, just over 100 years ago in ancient Buddhist texts. REIKI is the Japanese word for Universal Life Force Energy, the energy which lives in all living beings, nourishing them and keeping them alive. REIKI is a powerful yet subtle therapy which is a completely safe, natural and holistic way of treating dis-ease. Through a deep sense of relaxation, REIKI will help to release blocked energy and cleanse the body of toxins. On reaching the source of dis-ease, REIKI works on both a physical and emotional level. It will help relieve stress and related symptoms and will promote improvement and assist recovery from minor and major illnesses. REIKI is not involved with religion or dogma. It is practised in all walks of life, in every creed and culture. Who can it treat and help? The most simple form of natural healing using a gentle touch, REIKI is suitable for all ages and is equally effective on adults, children (animals and plants). It can be used alone or in combination with other systems, complementing most forms of medication or treatment. How does it work? REIKI works on all levels of the body, going wherever it is needed. It will activate the body's own natural ability to heal itself whilst restoring the natural balance. What happens in a session? A treatment session last approximately one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes. The Client simply removes his or her shoes and lays fully clothed on a couch. The REIKI practitioner gently places his or her hands on the specific energy centres of the whole body; each position is held for three to five minutes. There is no pressure or manipulation involved.
