Recommended Standards

You can download details and information on the new recommended standards for NHS HIV services endorsed by the Department of Health, the British HIV Association and the National Association of NHS Providers of AIDS Care and Treatment. Relevant for a range of providers as well as commissioners, service users and those involved in performance management.

As you maybe aware in February 2007 the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) published guidance on 'One to one interventions to reduce the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including HIV, and to reduce the rate of under 18 conceptions,
especially among vulnerable and at risk groups'  This guidance was produced for NHS and non-NHS professionals who have a direct or indirect role in, or responsibility for, sexual health services. This includes those working in local authorities and the education, community, voluntary and private sectors.
