more about us

Kernow Positive Support (KPS) has been established to effect, and develop HIV support services within the county of Cornwall after the dissolution of the Bethany Trust (Bodmin), and the closure of the Cornwall AIDS Council. You can view our latest bi-monthly newsletter in Acrobat PDF format by clicking here.

KPS is at this present time in it's infancy, and are currently seeking funding to establish a variety of charitable support services that will be offered to those living with HIV in Cornwall. It is KPS' intention to provide services in consultation with service users to define their needs, and encourage service users to be fully involved in our service provision through a self-help ethos. You can view the services currently on offer from KPS by clicking on the Our Services menu above. By clicking here, you can also download an Acrobat PDF of our information leaflet, that tells you all about KPS, and the services on offer, and to be developed.

A special KPS video presentation in a video streaming format is available online by clicking on RealVideo® and/or FlashPlayer®. You can download these players by clicking on the buttons adjacent, if your computer does not have these programmes loaded.

KPS is a registered charity, 1104947 and is dependant on grants, voluntary contributions and our own fundraising efforts. KPS officially adopted our 'Declaration of Trust' on 21st January 2004, and we were notified of our charitable status on 16th July 2004 by the Charities Commission for England and Wales. All the work at Kernow Positive Support is governed by a clear and comprehensive policies, copies of which are available in an Acrobat PDF downloadable format by clicking on Our Policies button adjacent. Our first Annual Report and Accounts for the period 2nd February 2004 to 31st March 2005 is now available online (Acrobat PDF format) by clicking here or on the button adjacent.

KPS has gained a great deal of experience from its current founding trustees, and their involvement and development of HIV services over many years. to ensure firstly, and most importantly, that those accessing our services are assured of absolute ‘Quality of Services' throughout our support and service network. KPS has a Board of  Trustees, comprising Chair, General Secretary, Treasurer and three others.
